Euloma was named by Angelin (1854) [Sepkoski's age data: Cm Trep-u O Aren-l Sepkoski's reference number: 1081].

It was reranked as Ptychoparia (Euloma) by Walcott (1884).

It was assigned to Ptychoparia by Walcott (1884); to Eulomidae by Jell and Adrain (2002); and to Ptychopariida by Sepkoski (2002).
