Taxonomy
Flectoconularia abapertura was named by Waterhouse (1979). Its type specimen is University of Otago CCO3 and is a mold. Its type locality is JDC 389, Sunnyvale Homestead, Taringatura Hills (E44/f8665), which is in an Otamitan marine sandstone in New Zealand. It is the type species of Flectoconularia.
