Taxonomy
Neoschisma extensum was named by Webster and Jell (1992). Its type specimen is QMF21494, an other (hypodeltoid plate), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is QML760, Callytharra-Byro track, which is in a Sakmarian marine horizon in the Callytharra Formation of Australia.
