Taxonomy
Dioctria jamesi was named by Lewis (1972). Its type specimen is B 134, a wing, and it is an impression. Its type locality is Ruby River, between Peterson and Morman Creeks, which is in a Whitneyan lacustrine shale in the Renova Formation of Montana.
