Taxonomy
Myrmecolax glaesi was named by Kinzelbach (1983). Its type specimen is GPIUH 1232, an exoskeleton (male imago), and it is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is Dominican amber (GPIH collection), which is in a Burdigalian/Langhian terrestrial amber in the Dominican Republic.
