Taxonomy
Helmolepis gracilis was named by Stensiö (1932). Its type specimen is MGUH VP 3219 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Cape Stosch on Hold-with-Hope, which is in a Griesbachian marine siliciclastic in Greenland.
