Nordia was named by Rozova (1968) [Sepkoski's age data: Cm Fran-u Sepkoski's reference number: 618]. It is not extant. Its type is Nordia lepida.

It was assigned to Lonchocephalidae by Jell and Adrain (2002); and to Ptychopariida by Sepkoski (2002).
