Chusenophyllum intermedium was named by Yu et al. (1981). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Pingdingshan, Bed 15, Chaohu City, which is in a Kungurian open shallow subtidal limestone/limestone in the Qixia Formation of China.
