Taxonomy
Pachyaspis was named by Resser (1938) [Sepkoski's age data: Cm Tojo Cm mMid-l Sepkoski's reference number: 16,81]. It is not extant. Its type is Pachyaspis typicalis.

It was assigned to Ptychopariidae by Jell and Adrain (2002); and to Ptychopariida by Palmer and Halley (1979), Eddy and McCollum (1998), Sepkoski (2002).
