Taxonomy
Pluricarpellatia peltata was named by Mohr et al. (2008). Its type specimen is MB.Pb. 2000/80 and is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Crato aquatics, which is in an Aptian/Albian lacustrine limestone in Brazil. It is the type species of Pluricarpellatia.
