Mecynostomata dohrni
Taxonomy
Mecynostoma dohrni was named by Brongniart (1894). Its type specimen is MNHN.F.R51152, an exoskeleton (three faintly preserved wings and very well preserved head), and it is an impression. Its type locality is Commentry (MNHN Brongniart coll), which is in a Gzhelian lacustrine deltaic shale in the Commentry Shales Formation of France. It is the type species of Mecynostomata, Mecynostoma.
It was recombined as Mecynostomata dohrni by Metcalf (1952), Kukalová (1969).
