Taxonomy

Homoioptera was named by Brongniart (1894). Its type is Lithomantis woodwardi. It is the type genus of Homoiopteridae.

It was assigned to Homoiopteridae by Handlirsch (1906), Handlirsch (1919), Handlirsch (1922), Kukalová (1969), Brauckmann et al. (1985), Carpenter (1992), Brauckmann and Becker (1992), Brauckmann et al. (2003).
