Patteiskya bouckaerti was named by Laurentiaux (1958). It is an impression. Its type locality is Schmiedestraße quarry, Haßlinghausen, which is in a Marsdenian marine siliciclastic in the Upper Hagen Beds Formation of Germany. It is the type species of Patteiskya.
It was recombined as Lycocercus bouckaerti by Kukalová (1969).
