Taxonomy
Ulmeriella martynovi was named by Zeuner (1938). Its type specimen is Mainz Natural History Museum 40, an exoskeleton, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Dyckeroff's quarry, Biebrich near Mainz-Castel, which is in an Aquitanian lacustrine lime mudstone in the Hydrobienkalk Formation of Germany.
It was considered a nomen dubium by Nel and Paicheler (1993).
