Protactus erichsonii
Taxonomy
Protactus erichsonii was named by Heer (1847). It is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Oeningen (Lavater'schen collection), which is in a Sarmatian crater lake limestone in the Upper Freshwater-Molasse Formation of Germany. It is the type species of Protactus.
It was corrected as Protactus erichsoni by Scudder (1885).
