Wanwanaspis was named by Kobayashi (1966) [Sepkoski's age data: Cm Trep Sepkoski's reference number: 16]. It is not extant.

It was assigned to Kingstoniidae by Qiu (1984); and to Ptychopariida by Sepkoski (2002).
