Taxonomy
Lebanotermes veltzae was named by Engel et al. (2011). Its type specimen is Azar 341C, an exoskeleton, and it is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is Lebanese amber, Mdeyrij-Hammana (LU collection), which is in a Barremian terrestrial amber in Lebanon. It is the type species of Lebanotermes.
