Taxonomy
Epilestes angustapterix was named by Nel et al. (2012). Its type specimen is PIN 63/117, a wing, and it is an impression. Its type locality is Soyana (PIN collection 117), which is in a Roadian lagoonal siliciclastic in the Iva-Gora Beds Formation of the Russian Federation.
