Taxonomy
Brodioptera cumberlandensis was named by Copeland (1957). Its type specimen is GSC 10390, a wing, and it is an impression. Its type locality is West Bay, Parrsboro, which is in a Westphalian A terrestrial siliciclastic in the Joggins Formation of Canada.
