Kenderlykaini was named by Legalov (2009) [Originally spelled Kenderlykanini, but incorrect stem formation]. Its type is Kenderlyka.

It was assigned to Kararhynchinae by Legalov (2010), Bouchard et al. (2011), Legalov (2015).
