Taxonomy

Psyllipsocus was named by Selys-Longchamps (1872). It is extant. It is the type genus of Psyllipsocini.

It was assigned to Psocides by Cockerell (1916); and to Psyllipsocidae by Mockford (1969), Carpenter (1992), Lienhard and Smithers (2002), Solórzano Kraemer (2007), Álvarez-Parra et al. (2020), Liang and Liu (2021), Weingardt et al. (2025).

Synonyms

Khatangia was named by Vishnyakova (1975).

It was synonymized subjectively with Psyllipsocus by Weingardt et al. (2025).

It was assigned to Psyllipsocidae by Vishnyakova (1975), Lienhard and Smithers (2002), Mockford et al. (2013), Hakim et al. (2017).
Sinopsyllipsocus was named by Zhang et al. (2016).

It was synonymized subjectively with Psyllipsocus by Álvarez‐Parra et al. (2024), Weingardt et al. (2025).

It was assigned to Psyllipsocidae by Zhang et al. (2016), Hakim et al. (2017).
