Taxonomy
Syntemna fissurata was named by Blagoderov and Grimaldi (2004). Its type specimen is TMP P83.15.3.8, an exoskeleton, and it is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is Grassy Lake, Medicine Hat (TMP coll), which is in a Campanian terrestrial amber in the Foremost Formation of Canada.
