Acastoides was named by Delo (1935) [Sepkoski's age data: S Wenl-l D Emsi-u Sepkoski's reference number: 421,1106]. It is not extant.

It was reranked as Acasta (Acastoides) by Richter and Richter (1939).

It was assigned to Acasta by Richter and Richter (1939); to Acastidae by Jell and Adrain (2002); and to Phacopida by Sepkoski (2002).
