Polioptenus elegans

Taxonomy
Dictyoneura elegans was named by Goldenberg (1877). Its type specimen is Naturhist Ver. Bonn, 10, a wing, and it is an impression. Its type locality is Mine dump near Dudweiler railway station, which is in a Westphalian C terrestrial horizon in the Lower Saarbrucker layer Formation of Germany. It is the type species of Polioptenus.

It was recombined as Goldenbergia elegans by Brongniart (1885); it was recombined as Polioptenus elegans by Scudder (1885), Scudder (1885), Handlirsch (1906), von Schlechtendal (1913), Handlirsch (1919), Handlirsch (1922), Waterlot (1934), Guthörl (1934), Guthörl (1940).
