Arcticalymene was named by Adrain and Edgecombe (1997) [Sepkoski's age data: S Wenl-l S Wenl-u]. It is not extant.

It was assigned to Calymeninae by Adrain and Edgecombe (1997); to Calymenidae by Jell and Adrain (2002); and to Phacopida by Sepkoski (2002).
