Taxonomy
Keratopygos megalos was named by Christiansen and Pike (2002). Its type specimen is CAS 110, an exoskeleton, and it is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is Grassy Lake, Medicine Hat (CNC August 1968 collection), which is in a Campanian terrestrial amber in the Foremost Formation of Canada.
