Carmelopodus untermannorum

Taxonomy
Carmelopodus untermannorum was named by Lockley et al. (1998). It is considered to be a form taxon. Its type specimen is CU-MWC 184.12, a footprint, and it is a trace fossil. Its type locality is Chew Road tracksites (DNM), which is in a Bajocian marginal marine sandstone/limestone in the Carmel Formation of Utah. It is the type species of Carmelopodus.

J. R. Foster et al. 2025Tridactyl, subsymmetrical tracks of a biped. Digital pad formula 2-3-3 for Digits II–IV; well-defined claw imprints are present. Tracks almost as wide as long, with wide digit divarication angles, especially between Digits II–III. Trackways narrow with the axis of Digit III parallel to the trackway axis.
