Taxonomy
Orapauletes cretaceus was named by Legalov (2009). Its type specimen is BP/2/26974, an exoskeleton, and it is a cast. Its type locality is Orapa (Bernard Price Institute), which is in a Turonian lacustrine - large mudstone in Botswana.
