Taxonomy

Hintzeia was named by Harrington (1957) [Sepkoski's age data: O Trem-u O Aren-l Sepkoski's reference number: 795].

It was assigned to Phacopida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Pliomeridae by Hoel (1999), Jell and Adrain (2002).

Species

H. actinura (syn. Pliomera mathesii), H. celsaora (syn. Protopliomerops aemula), H. firmimarginis, H. parafirmimarginis, Kanoshia depressus, Kanoshia kanoshensis, Kanoshia reticulata

Synonyms

Kanoshia was named by Harrington (1957) [Sepkoski's age data: O Aren-u O Llvi-l Sepkoski's reference number: 795]. It is not extant.

It was synonymized subjectively with Hintzeia by Demeter (1973).

It was assigned to Phacopida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Pliomeridae by Jell and Adrain (2002).
