Taxonomy
Hoploparia catalunica was named by Garassino et al. (2009). Its type specimen is MGSB 74519, a carapace, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Barranc de Finestrelles, north of Àger, which is in a Santonian open shallow subtidal marl in Spain.
