Taxonomy
Pteronemobius was named by Jacobson (1904). It is extant. It is the type genus of Pteronemobiini.

It was assigned to Gryllidae by Zeuner (1937); to Nemobiinae by Zeuner (1939); to Nemobiini by Harz (1969); and to Pteronemobiini by Vickery (1973), Storozhenko et al. (2015), Chintauan-Marquier et al. (2016).
