Taxonomy
Embia antiqua was named by Pictet and Hagen (1856). It is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is Baltic Amber, Berendt collection, which is in a Priabonian terrestrial amber in Poland.
It was recombined as Oligotoma antiqua by Hagen (1885); it was considered a nomen nudum by Pictet (1854); it was recombined as Electroembia antiqua by Ross (1956), Engel and Grimaldi (2011).
