Taxonomy
Timarchopsis sainshandensis was named by Ponomarenko (1987). Its type specimen is PIN 4024/47, an exoskeleton, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Tushilga locality (PIN Collection 4024), which is in an Aalenian terrestrial siliciclastic in the Khamarkhoburinskaya Formation of Mongolia.
