Taxonomy
Dieconeura rigida was named by Scudder (1885). It is an impression. Its type locality is Campbells Ledge, near Pittston, which is in a Westphalian D terrestrial shale in the Llewellyn Formation of Pennsylvania.
It was considered a nomen dubium by Béthoux (2008); it was recombined as Dieconeurites rigidus by Handlirsch (1906), Handlirsch (1906), Handlirsch (1919), Handlirsch (1922), Durden (1984), Aristov (2014).
