Taxonomy

Amphientomum was named by Pictet (1854). It is extant. Its type is Amphientomum knorrei. It is the type genus of Amphientomini, Amphientomoidea, Amphientominae.

It was assigned to Amphientominae by Lienhard and Smithers (2002); and to Amphientomidae by Enderlein (1911), Carpenter (1992), Nel et al. (2005).

Synonyms

Amphientomum (Palaeoseopsis) was named by Endlerein (1925). It is extant.

It was synonymized subjectively with Amphientomum by Boudinot et al. (2024).
