Tibagya was named by Struve (1958) [Sepkoski's age data: D Emsi-u D Eife Sepkoski's reference number: 1106]. It is not extant.

It was assigned to Calmoniidae by Jell and Adrain (2002); and to Phacopida by Sepkoski (2002).
