Prorhaphidophora tachycinoides was named by Chopard (1936). It is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is Baltic Amber, Berendt collection, which is in a Priabonian terrestrial amber in Poland.
It was recombined as Protroglophilus tachycinoides by Gorochov (2010).
