Taxonomy
Abanaxipha longispina was named by Vickery and Poinar (1994). Its type specimen is LEM 10950, an exoskeleton, and it is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is Dominican amber (Lyman Museum collection), which is in a Burdigalian/Langhian terrestrial amber in the Dominican Republic.
