Taxonomy
Cyrtoxipha illegibilis was named by Gorochov (2010). Its type specimen is NMNH 506712, an exoskeleton, and it is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is Dominican amber (USNM Brodzinsky Lopez-Pena coll), which is in a Burdigalian/Langhian terrestrial amber in the Dominican Republic.
