Cryptoderaspis was named by Rasetti (1946) [Sepkoski's age data: Cm uMid-u Sepkoski's reference number: 80]. It is not extant. Its type is Cryptoderaspis metisensis.
It was assigned to Catillicephalidae by Jell and Adrain (2002); to Trilobita by Sepkoski (2002); and to Onchonotopsidae by Bentley et al. (2006).
