Taxonomy
Kunmingaspis was named by Lu and Chang (1974) [Sepkoski's age data: Cm Tojo-u Sepkoski's reference number: 885]. It is not extant. Its type is Kunmingaspis yunnanensis.

It was assigned to Ptychopariidae by Hughes et al. (2002); and to Trilobita by Sepkoski (2002).
