Taxonomy
Cretatermes carpenteri was named by Emerson (1967). Its type specimen is PU 87270, a forewing, and it is an impression. Its type locality is Redmond No. 1, Knob Lake District (Dorf collection), which is in a Cenomanian marginal marine claystone in the Redmond Formation of Canada.
