Taxonomy
Phaneroneura rineharti was named by Sinitshenkova (2004). Its type specimen is NMMNH P-26905, a forewing, and it is an impression. Its type locality is NMMNH L-3433; Carrizo Arroyo, which is in an Asselian pond mudstone in the Bursum Formation of New Mexico.
