Taxonomy
Heterotermes eocenicus was named by Engel (2008). Its type specimen is B-163, an exoskeleton, and it is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is Baltic Amber (University of Kansas SEMC Collection), which is in a Priabonian terrestrial amber in the Russian Federation.
