Taxonomy
Palaeoplecia rhaetica was named by Rohdendorf (1962). It is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Sogyuty, Issyk-Kul (PIN Collection 358), which is in a Hettangian/Sinemurian lacustrine - small siliciclastic in the Dzhil Formation of Kyrgyzstan.
