Taxonomy

Stramentum was named by Logan (1897) [Sepkoski's age data: K Albi-m K Maes]. It is the type genus of Stramentidae, Stramentinae.

It was assigned to Cirripedia by Sepkoski (2002); to Stramentidae by Hattin (1977), Collins (1986), Hauschke (1994), Kočová Veselská et al. (2020); and to Stramentinae by Gale (2016), Chan et al. (2021).

Squama lata, Squama spissa, S. (Stramentum), S. alekseevi, S. canadensis, S. elegans, S. haworthi (syn. S. tabulatum), S. inconstans, S. praecursor, S. pulchellum (syn. Loricula darwini, Loricula gigas, Loricula macadami)
