Orthophlebia parallela was named by Giebel (1856). It is an impression. Its type locality is Strensham, Worcestershire, which is in a Rhaetian marine horizon in the Lilstock Formation of the United Kingdom.
It was recombined as Haglopsis parallela by Handlirsch (1906), Cockerell (1915).
