Taxonomy
Nematophlebia plicata was named by Cockerell (1915). Its type specimen is USNM 61395, a wing, and it is an impression. Its type locality is Lower Lias (Brodie coll), which is in a Rhaetian/Hettangian marine shale/limestone in the United Kingdom. It is the type species of Nematophlebia.
