Taxonomy
Phyllelytron acuminatum was named by Riek (1976). Its type specimen is N-MN 52, a tegmen (basal 1/3 of tegmen), and it is an impression. Its type locality is Mooi River Locality, which is in a Changhsingian delta plain shale in South Africa.
