Taxonomy
Dasyleptus artinskianus was named by Engel (2009). Its type specimen is MCZ 8648, an exoskeleton, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Elmo, MCZ post-1950 collection, which is in an Artinskian pond limestone in the Wellington Formation of Kansas.
